
Soprano Angelina Calderón performs opera, classical song and choral works throughout greater Boston. Her 2009-2010 engagements include concerts in Boston Cecilia, Boston Pops and in the Tanglewood Festival Chorus with the Boston Symphony Ochestra’s U.S. premiere of MacMillan’s St. John Passion and at Tanglewood for Mahler’s second symphony. In 2007 Angelina premiered works by Stephanie Lubkowski in New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall and with ElectroNEC, and sang in “Drumming” in collaboration with the Callithumpian Consort, direector Steven Drury and composer Steve Reich.
Angelina performs in the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, Boston Cecilia, the King’s Chapel Choir, All Saints Parish and is a founding member of Lorelei Ensemble. She began her professional career in the Madison Opera chorus and has since performed partial roles with New England Conservatory’s opera program and in Boston Opera Collaborative. She earned her Masters Degree from New England Conservatory and a Bachelors Degree from Luther College, where she studied with Mark Pearson, Mark St. Laurent, Mark Mowry and Jessica Paul. Angelina serves on the music faculty of the German International School of Boston, Franklin School for the Performing Arts and is an active member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Boston. She maintains a private voice studio in Jamaica Plain, MA.
